How to use the iOS App as an Operator (TravelKey)
Wetu's App, TravelKey, makes it possible for your client to access their itinerary and any required travel documentation from their mobile device. TravelKey is convenient for those who don't want to carry lots of paper while travelling, but still want to be able to access their travel information on the go. The app is available for free on iOS and Android platforms and is available in different languages.
This article is intended for Operators. It explains how to give your client access to their itinerary on TravelKey, as well as how they can access the travel information offline, when connectivity is limited. We'll also give some pointers on navigating the App. You can find similar information and instructions written for travellers using iOS here and Android here.
The Mobile Code that is needed to give clients access to itineraries on TravelKey is only available on the Enterprise Package
In this article:
Getting the Mobile Code
When you build a Personal Itinerary in the Wetu Itinerary Builder, one of the automatic outputs is a 6 character Mobile Code. This Mobile Code will not generate if your Personal Itinerary does not have dates.
Downloading the App
From your mobile or tablet, navigate to the Apple App Store and search for TravelKey.
Navigating through the App
When TravelKey opens the sign-in page appears.
The user will be prompted to enter a Name and Password. In the Password field, enter the 'Mobile Code' of the itinerary you want to view.
The Personal Itinerary will then download and open on the Introduction screen.
The logo on the top of this screen is based on the branding selected for the itinerary; co-branding and rebranding are supported. This screen displays the Itinerary Name, Client Name, Destinations included in the itinerary, as well as the Itinerary Introduction from Step 6 of the Itinerary Builder.
Once the client clicks the 'Enter' button, they will arrive at the 'Overview' screen. Here they will find the majority of the information pertaining to the trip. For each day or collection of days, the traveller will be able to find details about their accommodation, transport, activities, daily information, expert tips, inclusions, exclusions, weather and more.
The information within each day, or collection of days, is based on the information entered in the Itinerary Builder in Step 2 - Accommodation, Step 3 - Route Builder (or Travel Details) and Step 4 - Planner.
The menu:
At the bottom right of the screen is the menu button. Below we will explain what information will display in the menu as well as where in the Itinerary Builder that information needs to be entered to display on the app.
Introduction:
Takes the client back to the Enter screen
Destinations:
Each of the Destinations included in the itinerary will be outlined here. The information which appears is based on the accommodation that was entered in Step 2 of the Itinerary Builder.
Country Info:
Country information is also included, based on the Destinations included in the itinerary. It provides details on electricity, cuisine, climate, transport, dress code and more in the country which your client is visiting.
Transport:
Here the traveller can easily access and view the details of all the upcoming transport types in date order, on one page.
Documents:
The traveller can access and download the documents that you have uploaded to the itinerary on their mobile device. The documents that display in this section are based on the documents uploaded in Step 6 of the Itinerary Builder, under Add Documents and Cover Documents.
Settings:
Within the Settings option, the traveller can change the itinerary that they are viewing on TravelKey, simply by selecting 'Change Itinerary' and entering a new 6 digit mobile code or 'Refresh' the current itinerary so that it reflects any updates that have been made to the trip.
Contacts:
The main contact for the itinerary will display at the top, based either on the consultant info or company details that you have set up in the Admin section of your Wetu account.
Also included are the contact details of the accommodation included in the itinerary, as well as any additional contact details that were entered in Step 5 of the Itinerary Builder.
Offline Functionality
TravelKey has been designed to have basic functionality if the traveller is not connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi. The traveller will need to download their itinerary while connected to the internet. Once downloaded the itinerary will be available for reference. Important to note:
- Any updates made to the itinerary after that will not reflect until the traveller re-connects to mobile data or Wi-Fi and refreshes the itinerary again.
- Documents that have been downloaded before will still be accessible
TravelKey in Different Languages
TravelKey supports all the languages that are available in the Itinerary Builder. You can change the itinerary language in Step 1 - Itinerary Details.
Once you have updated the language in the Itinerary Builder, refresh the itinerary in TravelKey. The framework will translate into the desired language.
