Adding Content: Adding Directions to your Listing

You are able to add your directions to your Enhanced Listing (to and from your most common locations – e.g. Durban Airport, N3 exit, N3 south of JHB, other lodges that are often included in itineraries with yours, etc).

Using the Itinerary Builder, Operators will be able to stitch these directions together and send them to their clients. Hopefully, this will make life easier for yourselves, your operators and most importantly clients will get good, up-to-date directions.

This functionality is available for all iBrochure listings

From Location

Step 1

You have to select  directions to property or directions from property. We will do directions to property for this example.

Step 2

Click on Add New Directions.

Step 3

Decide if the direction is from a location in Wetu or from a roadway (e.g. the N3). For this example, we will use from location, in this case, an airport. Please note, a location must be an airport, a significant landmark, another property, etc (something that has a specific GPS location). Do not choose Cape Town, Stellenbosch or Durban which will give you a general location and the route will not start where you would want it to start.

Step 4

Once the name of your decided start point has been added, check the Map to see if the automated route is right. If not select a new one by clicking on the route and dragging it to the desired road. The directions should automatically populate the text boxes next to the map. Double-check if the text is correct before moving on as this Google feature is very tricky.

Step 5

If the directions did not automatically populate the text boxes, enter in the written description line by line - there is a limit to the number of characters each line can take.  If you need to add a line in the middle of existing lines go to the end of the line and click on Enter. If you want to delete a line click on the red x or to delete a start point click on delete.

Note: Hit save before you move onto your next direction start point

From a Roadway

Step 1

Select From a roadway (1).

Step 2

Zoom in on the Map to where you want your directions to start (2) then click on set position - generally as close to you as possible on that road to catch all options connecting to you via that road.  Make sure that you get the pin on the correct side of the road (check the routing doesn't have to make a loop via a bridge to get to your property).

Check the Map to see if the automated route is right.  If not select a new one by clicking on the route and dragging it to the desired road (this is sometimes a little tricky). Once you are happy with the route move on to the written directions.

Give the Point a user-friendly name (3) N3 / R616 Interchange - an operator would be able to link these directions to any directions which accessed the N3 or R616 to get to the Property.

Step 3

The directions should automatically populate the text boxes next to the map. Double-check if the text is correct before moving on. If not, enter in the written description line by line - there is a limit to the number of characters each line can take.  If you need to add a line in the middle of existing lines go to the end of the line and click on Enter.  If you want to delete a line click on the red x.

Note: Hit save before you move onto your next direction start point

What it looks like in the iBrochure

When viewing the directions in the iBrochure you click on enter iBrochure and once it is open click on Map on the top menu panel. Once in the Map tab, click on directions.

Once the directions are loaded, click on get directions next to the start point of your choice. The driving directions will generate and be available below the list of starting points.
